Musicality focuses more on potential instead of mere talent. Since then, Musicality has quickly grown into an elite audition-based ensemble. Despite these problems, the inexperienced group had a very successful opening season, and their first performance had excellent reviews. The premiere ensemble for Musicality was very unbalanced with few male singers. Music educator, Michael Gibson, decided to start a volunteer after-school vocal ensemble. Musicality is a group that began in 2008 after a group of students from Curie Metropolitan High School (Chicago, Illinois) expressed interest in continuing music after the spring musical had ended.
